The Bend is located in the north/north eastern part of Georgia in Fannin County - square in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  These are some of the oldest mountains in the country.  If the Blue Ridge range is old the Rockies are adolescences by comparison.  In fact, by geologic standards, the mountains around The Bend are thousands of millennia older than the Rockies. With their great height and rocky, jagged escarpments, the arid mountain ranges of the West are, no doubt, spectacular; however, the mature, tranquil, lush and majestic beauty of the North Georgia Mountains is, in my humble opinion, their equal.  Coming to The Bend area is like putting on a pair of well worn Carhart jeans – rugged and comfortable.
