Crystal Bend is blessed with location.  The property is 80 miles from Atlanta, 150 miles from Knoxville, 26 miles from Dahlonega www.dahlonega.org,  20 miles from Blue Ridge www.blueridgemountains.com and 15 miles from Blairsville www.blairsville.com. These quaint and distinctly southern small towns are a joy to behold.  Take an afternoon and go antiquing then stop by one of the many restaraunts for a bite.  But, perhaps,  your interest lie in hunting and fishing the vast National Forest, running the creeks and rivers in a canoe, a day hike on the Appalachian Trail or Benton MacKaye Trail, or a quick foray on a four wheeler, good time for all are close at hand.

Geography

Crystal Bend is located in the north/north eastern part of Georgia in Fannin County - square in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  These are some of the oldest mountains in the country.  If the Blue Ridge range is old the Rockies are adolescences by comparison.  In fact, by geologic standards, the mountains around Crystal Bend are thousands of millennia older than the Rockies. With their great height and rocky, jagged escarpments, the arid mountain ranges of the West are, no doubt, spectacular; however, the mature, tranquil, lush and majestic beauty of the North Georgia Mountains is, in my humble opinion, their equal.  Coming to Crystal Bend area is like putting on a pair of well worn Carhart jeans – rugged and comfortable.

There is a relaxed feeling of solitude at Crystal Bend.  The easy calm of the area is reflected in the people and beautiful wilderness that surrounds it.  The feeling is quite contagious and will infuse itself within you the moment you arrive.  Being close to several metro areas, it is a perfect place to escape with your loved ones for a weekend – returning to the Grind content and refreshed.
